Join us for this virtual workshop to learn how to use the NGSS-based, integrated STEM unit, Salmon and Their Habitat, to help your students investigate salmon needs and local water quality.  Learn also how this unit can be used to support both in-person and virtual learning. Lessons in this unit can be used whether you are raising salmon or not.

*This course is intended for teachers within the Kitsap County region. *

Teachers will participate in locally based, STEM focused lessons and projects that support NGSS standards and the goals of Kitsap County Public Works’ Stormwater Program. Topics include:

  • Life cycle and habitat needs of salmon 
  • The connection between runoff, stormwater systems, and streams in Puget Sound.
  • Impacts of human development on streams and habitat

The sources and cumulative impacts of water pollution.
