Integrating Social Emotional Learning into Literacy to Support Student Resilience

Integrating Social Emotional Learning into Literacy to Support Student Resilience

August 9th & 16th, 2022 (Two Session Training)

Presenters

  • Patricia Beuke
  • Lyndsey Kellum

Description

Storytelling has been a tool used across cultures and time, it gives us an opportunity to learn from another person’s experience and connect us to a message and meaning. Children, adolescents, and young adults have faced unprecedented challenges living through a pandemic. For many of our students, it has impacted their mental and behavioral health. Storytelling is powerful in shaping our mental health: Stories can inspire empathy, courage, resilience, and hope.

Join us as we explore strategies to integrate social emotional learning (SEL) standards into the Kindergarten-12 literacy curriculum.

*Registration for both the online and one in-person session is required*

Event Notes

NOTE: The secondary option for the in-person session has been canceled due to low enrollment.

Please feel free to register for the primary option, and you will still have an opportunity to dive into secondary text.
