This half-day professional learning day is geared for those interested in making change in mathematics classrooms. District level, building level, classroom level leaders, and math instructional teams and coaches will benefit in looking beyond the content and math practice standards, to see how math education is changing. Building a culture where math education is equitable for all students is essential in today’s world. What do we believe is qualify mathematics education and what is quality mathematics education will be the focus of this professional learning offering. (Presenter Jo Boaler)


Jo Boaler, Professor of Mathematics Education at Stanford University will lead the event for all teachers in this professional learning.


Objectives:

1) Learn the latest brain research and the implications for student learning.

2) Learn pedagogical strategies.

3) Explore changes needed in math education and make math learning equitable for all students.
