Join us for an exciting workshop series Everything You Wanted to Know About Highly Capable Students, but Were Afraid to Ask. In this four-part series, we will discuss the following:
Session 1: October 18, 2017 - Processes, Procedures & Strategies
- Explore the requirements of Highly Capable Programs
- Explore the benefits of record keeping
- Strategies to use in the classroom
Session 2: November 29, 2017 - Differentiation for Gifted Learners
- Discuss & Share your curent knowledge of differentiation
- Differentiation Strategies & Lessons
Session 3: January 24, 2018 - Leading with Equity for Your Classrooms
- How to use Common Core Standards to design work to accelerate your Hi-Cap students
- Strategies to incorporate Equity in your classroom
Session 4: February 28, 2018 - Putting Your Knowledge to Work to Make a Difference for Your Students
- Share HiCap student work resulting from the strategies you learned in the previous three workshops
- Results and changes you have experienced in your classrooms and with the students with which you have been working
- Incorporating ideas and strategies to improve your school's use of HiCap strategies in all classrooms
Your participation also includes:
Differentiation for Gifted Learners by Diane Heacox, Ed.D and Richard M. Cash, Ed.D
5.5 clock hours will be provided at the cost of $11 per session
Lunch will be provided.
