Description
Preservice Mentor Academy is a virtual event on the development of foundational mentor and coaching skills and knowledge with a clear focus on mentoring preservice teachers (student teachers, teacher candidates, practicum teachers, etc.) This training is intended for experienced educators who will be supporting the instructional growth and development of novice educators and/or preservice educators, although the skills transfer to work with veteran educators, too. Topics include: understanding the functions of mentoring, facilitating learning-focused conversations, using instructional frameworks to promote growth, conducting observations and providing effective feedback, gathering data, promoting equitable classrooms, and maintaining confidentiality.

1. BEST’s on-line events are interactive training, not webinars. It is possible to call in and join without video, if necessary. In all cases, participants are asked to participate in all activities via audio.
