About the Topic

The topic of this summer's conferences is Differentiation.

At the heart of quality learning is the essential need to accurately match work and teaching strategies to student starting points; the art of effective differentiation. Differentiation has been a buzz word in education for many years, but still remains a mystifying concept for many educators, making translation to practical classroom activities very difficult.

Class Measures associates are skilled in the art of demystifying differentiation, supporting teachers to make impactful choices from a range of techniques and strategies that will guide improved student learning, progress and achievement. We are excited to welcome colleagues to explore and practice the most successfully implemented differentiation practices with us in the Class Measures two-day interactive workshop.

During these sessions, participants will engage in presentations, discussions and practical activities that address themes such as:

  • The physiological need to differentiate - an overview of scientific and academic research.
  • Practical lesson design - making standards fit our students through skilled standards unpacking.
  • When to differentiate and when to scaffold.
  • Differentiation methods – a full overview of the seven models of effective differentiation.
  • Responding to social and emotional needs with differentiated practices.
  • Using project-based learning/cross-curricular learning to meet individual needs.
  • Specific strategies in differentiation for English language learners.
  • The fully differentiated lesson – an exemplary case-study that includes the effective use of technology in the classroom.

We hope you can join us!
