The Initial ESA Certification Course is intended for those who already have a certification in either nursing, social work, audiology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy or physical therapy and want to take their profession into the public school setting. TBD if BCBA's will also be required to complete this course.

During this four-day in-person course, instruction will cover: school law and society, assessment, documentation, service delivery, school health and safety issues, and resources for nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, audiologists, speech/language pathologists, and social workers.

This approved courses satisfies the thirty hours required by the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction  (OSPI) (WAC 181-79A-223) to complete your Washington State ESA certification.
