Description

This workshop covers important things adults need to know when advising students and families on financial aid and strategies to support completion. The workshop will provide participants a brief overview of the financial aid timeline and process. Then, we’ll shift to focus on commonly asked about student/family situations and troubleshooting unique situations. Attendees will receive financial aid completion and education resources that can be used with students and families, and will learn about regional practices around implementation.

Event Notes

Target Audience: This training targets current practitioners in schools and CBOS who are supporting students to complete financial aid or advising students and families about financial aid. This training can be paired with the 201 training, which will cover specifics about post-application processes and strategies to support students with those (verification, appeals, award letters). If you need foundational information about financial aid forms and the process, please check out our financial aid foundations workshop.
