Description
This course is for HS Chemistry and Physics teacher leaders, one of each per school. The course is offered through the Climate Science Proviso as a partnership between Puget Sound ESD and the South Sound LASER Alliance. Participants will be engaged in phenomena and problems that bridge the core ideas of Earth Systems Science (ESS2, ESS3) and Physical Science (PS1, PS3, PS4). Numerous resources will support teacher learning and the design of three-dimensional Chemistry or Physics learning tasks of their choice. Equity for students takes a central role in this course: engaging students to participate in local environmental justice problems, and inspiring students to pursue STEM-related careers. The expertise of various STEM-professionals will be included.
