Join us for an exciting opportunity for teachers to engage in learning about Ambitious Science Teaching Practices, the Next Generation Science Standards, and an aligned science unit incorporating NGSS and CCELA/Math. This interactive and entertaining workshop will bring science to life as we explore everyday events through a STEM lens. This workshop will allow all teachers to enjoy learning about basic water and landforms concepts, engage in a lesson by lesson overview of a second grade unit entitled, What Caused A Washington Town to Flood, and discover the connections between science ideas through hands-on explorations. All teachers are welcome to take part in this exciting program. No science background needed. 

  • Date:  Saturday, May 18, 2019

  • Location:  Univeristy of Washington, Miller Hall, 2012 Skagit Lane, Seattle
  • STEM Clock Hours:  Six are available for purchase at $18.00 (expense included in the stipend)
  • Stipend:  $228 - W-9 form must be completed and submitted at the workshop
  • Parking on campus - $15.00 - Neighborhood parking is difficult to find
