Description
This workshop will cover basic interpretation techniques, code of ethics, roles of the interpreter, etc. and provide an opportunity to practice those skills. Information will be provided which will successfully start you on your career path as an interpreter.
Please note: Attendees are not guaranteed a contract with the PSESD interpreting program. Hiring of new interpreters will be based on program needs, interpreter’s availability, and skills among other criteria. We especially have a current need for interpreters fluent in the following languages: Vietnamese, Tigrinya, Somali, Lingala, Punjabi, Urdu, and French.

Your course fee includes lunch. While best effort has been made to ensure there are food options to meet everyone’s needs, individuals with dietary restrictions may wish to bring supplemental food/snack items for the day.
