This training is designed for early childhood teachers who work with preschool aged children. The Pyramid Model focuses on classroom practices that support the social-emotional development of young children. In this Pyramid Model Practices training, participants will engage in learning and discussions on evidence-based strategies to promote young children’s social emotional competence and reducing challenging behaviors. 

Module 1 training will cover the following topics:

  • Overview of the Pyramid Model
  • Building relationships with children
  • Building relationships with families
  • Classroom team relationships
  • Creating engaging environments
  • Schedules, routines, & transitions
  • Teaching classroom rules
  • Ongoing monitoring and positive encouragement

Module 2 training will cover the following topics:

  • Identifying the Importance of Teaching Social Emotional Skills: Why, When, What, and How
  • Developing Friendship Skills
  • Enhancing Emotional Literacy Skills
  • Controlling Anger and Impulse
  • Problem Solving
  • Providing Individualized Instruction
