Description
Threat Assessment Training offers an overview of the PSESD Threat Assessment process following the Salem-Keizer model, and prepares schools to form/inform their school teams. The system presented is designed to provide a comprehensive, multidimensional system to assist schools in identifying students who pose a threat for harming others and provide these students with options for intervention and is in alignment with the new school discipline guidance.
Course Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1) Identify research and basic principles regarding threat assessment and threat management.
2) Identify effective protocol for conducting threat assessments in their districts.
3) Practice threat assessment skills using table exercises and case reviews.
Audience: All interested are welcome. Designed For school teams representing Deans/Admin, SROs, Counselors, and Special Education leads.
