About the Training:   Breathe For Change is a well-known Yoga Teacher Training that has a mission in empowering educators to enhance well-being in their lives, classrooms, and school communities. 

This training will offer a wide variety of yoga and mindfulness techniques to use with your students, while remaining trauma informed and culturally competent.

Instructor:    Lane Krumpos, Breathe For Change graduate, invites you to join this six-hour overview of wellness skills, social emotional learning practices, and continuing professional support.

Audience:   This training will benefit anyone interested in incorporating social emotional learning, mindfulness, and yoga within their school community and classrooms. The different social emotional learning tools offered in this training are built to be to inclusive and trauma informed.

Registration Fee: Reduced to just $50.00/person


Clock Hours:  6 clock hours will be available for an additional, separate charge of $18

IMPORTANT UPDATES:

  • This event (originally set for 3/11/20 at PSESD in Renton) was postponed due to COVID-19 "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" orders.
  • NEW SCHEDULE - This class is now set up as a series of three (3) 2-hour ZOOM classes, to be held:
    1. Thursday, 4/30/20 from 10:00 to Noon (Internal Work)
    2. Thursday, 5/7/20 from 10:00 to Noon (Ground Work in Action)
    3. Thursday, 5/14/20 from 10:00 to Noon (SEL Facilitation)
  • ZOOM Info:
    • A link to join the ZOOM will be shared with all registrants via email on 4/22/20 (and a reminder will be sent 4/28/20, and 2 days prior to each subsequent class)
    • A password will be required and will be shared with all registrants via the same email and reminders
    • Our trainer, Lane Krumpos, will be working with an assistant, Jana Iwasaki, who will record attendance and provide ZOOM assistance to participants during each presentation.
    • Upon joining the ZOOM for each class, participants must enter the "Chat Room" and record their name and work title.  This will serve as official proof of attendance for Clock Hours.
    • Each session will be recorded, but participants will have the opportunity to listen, watch and participate without a video of themselves on display and their own audio muted.
      • When participants first "join" the ZOOM, they will see a pop-up screen with options to participate with or without video and audio.
    • Jana Iwasaki's contact information will be included in future emails sent to all registrants.

  • Clock Hours
    • Completing all three 2-hour classes qualifies participants for a total of 6 Clock Hours.
    • A separate email will be sent a few days before the 4/30 class with instructions for claiming Clock Hours after completing all three 2-hour classes.
    • Remember:  Upon joining the ZOOM for each class, participants must enter the "Chat Room" and record their name and work title.  This will serve as official proof of attendance for Clock Hours.

REMINDERS:

Please plan to dress comfortably, as this is a hands-on workshop and you will be practicing the yoga and mindfulness techniques.

Attendees should have the following items handy:

  • A water bottle for hydration.
  • A journal/notepad and something to write with.
  • A small personal towel.

PSESD Professional Development Cancellation Policy

A full refund will be granted if PSESD cancels the course. If a participant needs to cancel their registration for an event, the following guidelines apply:

  • A 90% refund will be granted if an email notice of cancellation is received by the PSESD class coordinator more than three full working days prior to the class start date. (e.g., if a class starts on Friday, the registration would need to be cancelled by 11:59 PM the Monday prior to the class)
  • If the registration fee was paid by credit card 120 days before the cancelation, the refund will appear on the credit card used for the initial transaction. If it is beyond the 120 days, a refund check will be issued.
  • If the registration fee was secured with a purchase order, only the cancellation fee will be invoiced. Registrants should notify their district that they did not attend the course.
