Description
High School Chemistry Teachers...
* You are invited to join our ISB team and STEM professionals!
* Please register as a team of teachers: recruit colleagues from a whole department, a whole district cadre of a specific science course, PLC, or other collaborative team.
*17 clock hours + $500 Implementation honorarium, earned for classroom implementation and submission of ClimeTime research surveys (teacher reflection survey and student voice surveys).
Weave climate science into your chemistry courses! These 4 synchronous sessions are for chemistry teachers to learn about and implement OpenSciEd's first unit for HS chemistry, called “Thermal Energy in our World.”
FOR STUDENTS the unit phenomenon is engaging, has a positive outlook, and guides students to figure out "How can we slow the flow of energy on Earth to protect vulnerable coastal communities?"
FOR CHEMISTRY TEACHERS this a chance to learn and practice research-based pedagogical shifts to enhance student engagement and learning (3Dimensions, AST, Routines, OEL protocol, etc.)
