Description

The OpenSciEd curriculum is an open-access high quality instructional material (HQIM). This hybrid curriculum launch will introduce Physics Unit 1 (P.1): Energy Flow from Earth’s Systems (the first unit in the OpenSciEd High School Physics program). Participants will experience OpenSciEd instructional routines that scaffold student sense-making around the unit driving question: How can we design more reliable systems to meet our communities’ energy needs? For a full description of this unit, please visit: https://www.openscied.org/instructional-materials/p-1-energy-flow-from-earths-systems/

This hybrid curriculum launch is structured so that participants complete an asynchronous Canvas module during a given window in order to connect with others and share their learning during a live session. Total time engagement is 21 hours including four 2-hour live sessions on Zoom and approximately 13 hours of asynchronous work in Canvas.

Event Notes

**Please note: This course is part of a Remote OpenSciEd Curriculum Launch series that includes both hybrid and fully asynchronous professional learning models. To learn more about these two models and choose the option that fits best for you, visit: https://bit.ly/2024-WA-ROCL

Canvas and Zoom links will be emailed prior to the start of the event.
