Description
Effective incident management is an essential component of school safety, and school administrators and crisis response team members should be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead and support an organized response to emergencies. This training provides school administrators and crisis response building team members with a rare opportunity to complete Incident Command System (ICS) 100 and ICS 200 in person, facilitated by Franklin Emergency Management. Participants will gain knowledge with nationally recognized incident management principles, roles, responsibilities, communication, and response structures and how the system works with the school system.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification for both ICS 100 and ICS 200. This training supports leading practices for school emergency preparedness and helps ensure administrators and crisis response teams are better prepared to coordinate an effective, unified response during an emergency.
This is an exceptional opportunity for school leaders and crisis response personnel to build critical incident management capabilities, strengthen building-level response teams, and enhance overall school safety and preparedness. This training meets the RCW 28A.320.125 (2) (f) Require the building principal to be certified in incident command system. Students will need to obtain their FEMA Student ID at https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register prior to the course, to begin the course on time and to receive their certificates upon completion of the course
