This 90-minute training provides school staff with a practical introduction to gang-related behaviors and behavioral threat assessment. Participants will explore current gang-related trends, common indicators and behaviors that may raise concern, and the importance of looking beyond labels to understand the context behind what they are seeing. The session will also introduce the purpose of behavioral threat assessment, what it is—and is not—and the important role staff play in recognizing, documenting, and reporting concerning behaviors. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of when behavior may warrant additional support, when it may signal a safety concern, and how early identification and appropriate response can help strengthen both student support and school safety.
