This presentation introduces the history, purpose, and core principles of the Handle with Care model, including how it has been adapted and implemented across Central Washington. Participants will learn how Handle with Care creates a connection between law enforcement, schools, and student support systems to increase awareness when students may have experienced potentially traumatic events. The presentation will also explore practical trauma-informed strategies that school staff can use to promote safety, connection, regulation, and support for students.
