Description

The Climate Justice League is a cohort-based professional learning experience that supports K-12 science teachers in designing and implementing science learning activities that highlight social justice and environmental justice connections. Teachers develop learning experiences focused on local changes and challenges and taking action to respond to these issues. Members of the Climate Justice League will participate in five face-to-face meetings via Zoom and complete asynchronous work between sessions. They commit to developing a series of lessons or a unit that engages students in learning about social justice issues through the lens of climate change. At the final face-to-face meeting, Climate Justice League members will bring student work samples and/or artifacts from their lessons to share with the group and reflect on personal learning as well as student learning.

The SW Cohort is open to teachers in the ESD 112 and CRESD 113 regions.
