Description

George Washington: The “And” not the “Or”

We will explore the life and legacy of Washington, from his life as a farmer, a politician, businessman, or strategic military leader.  Participants will explore and discuss the darker aspects of Washington’s life, such as an enslaver or “Town Destroyer”.  Washington lived by seven distinct character traits. Discover these seven traits and how they can be applied to ourselves today.

George Washington as Spymaster

Using lessons from George Washington Teacher Institute, participants will engage in learning about the Culper Spy Ring and the individuals who made this secretive ring successful to win the Revolutionary War. Participants will be introduced to Washington as a secret agent, which will lead participants into the final activity with an escape room to solve a mystery of a long-lost document.

Breakfast and Lunch will be provided by the George Washington Teacher Institute.

A $50 travel stipend will be provided to all participants, regardless of distance traveled.
W-9 forms will be completed at the event.
