Description
All participants will
- Learn and comprehend 8 water quality parameters concepts- Dissolved Oxygen, Temperature, Fecal Coliform, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Nitrates, Turbidity, pH, Total Solids
- Apply skills to conduct a minimum of 6 water quality tests
- Learn procedures for recording and reporting data, ordering subs and buses and other program logistics
- Use Stream Surveys to analyze land use impacts on water quality at testing sites and throughout watershed
- Evaluate watershed health based on water quality test results
- Identify action projects to improve water quality in their community
- Receive an overview of watershed curriculum to integrate water quality testing into their classrooms
