Description

All participants will 

  • Learn and comprehend 8 water quality parameters concepts- Dissolved Oxygen, Temperature, Fecal Coliform, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Nitrates, Turbidity,  pH, Total Solids
  • Apply skills to conduct a minimum of 6 water quality tests
  • Learn procedures for recording and reporting data, ordering subs and buses and other program logistics
  • Use Stream Surveys to analyze land use impacts on water quality at testing sites and throughout watershed
  • Evaluate watershed health based on water quality test results
  • Identify action projects to improve water quality in their community
  • Receive an overview of watershed curriculum to integrate water quality testing into their classrooms
