QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer. People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.  Learning Objectives Include: 

• Learning to identify persons that may be contemplating suicide. This includes learning how to ask the questions and collect information to determine whether or not the person is thinking about suicide. 
• Identify risk and protective factors and how to immediately reduce risk of suicide.
• Identify and practice ways to persuade someone not to attempt suicide, even if only for a short period of time, so that interventions, supports and resources can be implemented.
• Identify resources, interventions and unique support strategies that can be offered to someone who is thinking about suicide.

ZOOM Training 

This training is intended for classified staff (transportation, maintenance and custodial, paraeducators) and/or anyone who interacts with students.
