Description
This training is REQUIRED for all new or previously untrained state funded full-day kindergarten teachers whose schools will be implementing WaKIDS in the fall of 2019. In this introductory training for teachers new to WaKIDS we will discuss the purpose structure and potential of WaKIDS.
Objectives:
1) Develop the skills necessary to successfully implement all three WaKIDS components.
2) Gain a better understanding of how formative assessment is foundational to effective instruction and learn practical strategies for collecting using and sharing evidence.
3) Become familiar with features that help make assessment invisible in the classroom and how to make it possible to individualize instruction.
4) Have the opportunity to practice using GOLD to plan teach assess and analyze data to inform educational decisions.
5) With the completion of their GOLD Interrater Reliability Certification gain assessment tool confidence in scoring accuracy and fidelity with the tool.
