Description
This in-person convening at Skagit Valley College Mount Vernon Campus offers insight to K-12 teachers, advisors, counselors, and college partners in the NWESD 189 region who teach computer science and/or cybersecurity classes/courses.
Participants will explore resources designed to inspire and inform students about cybersecurity pathways as well as the latest developments in the industry related to AI. Guest Presenter from industry, Karl Hubbard, Cybersecurity Analyst from a large gaming and digital entertainment company and graduate from Western Washington University’s Cybersecurity Bachelor’s degree program, will share developments on the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. The event includes intentional collaborative discussions, valuable insights into cybersecurity workforce demands and educational pathways. Time dedicated to networking and discussion related to building alignment between high school and college cybersecurity courses will take place during the event.
