Description

Young learners are constantly building vocabulary—but too often, they are asked to memorize words without understanding how they work.
This four-session online learning series supports elementary educators in helping students make meaning of words by exploring their structure.
Participants will learn how morphology—prefixes, base words, and suffixes—can be introduced in developmentally appropriate ways to strengthen reading, spelling, and vocabulary across all content areas.
Through playful exploration and explicit instruction, students can begin to see patterns in words, grow their word knowledge, and build confidence as readers and writers.
