Description

This is an ASYNCHRONOUS Roundtable. You will have to register here to receive a link to our online course.

Registered participants will receive access to the online course after September 15th.

This Mentor Roundtable is available once monthly (Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, March, & May) throughout the school year to support both novice & experienced mentors & instructional coaches who support novice educators. Through this fully online, asynchronous Mentor Roundtable, full-release mentors, colleague mentors, coaches & administrators working across elementary, secondary, & district-level settings can take advantage of & engage in resources to build their coaching & mentoring toolkit to support educator growth & development. Sessions draw upon Mentor Standards, the work of Elena Aguilar, Jim Knight, Lipton & Wellman, & more. Participants will reflect, share experiences, engage in choice-based learning, and more.

Roundtables are ongoing opportunities for mentors who have taken Mentor Academy 101 to continue learning in community. BEST's Roundtable offerings are open invitations. Participants can attend one or all sessions of one or more Roundtables based on their needs and interests.

  1. Each learning module is 2 hours. 7 modules are offered.
  2. Participants will receive 14 clock hours in total after completing all 7 modules.
  3. Clock hours will be processed in June.

Event Notes

  • Target Participants: Mentors, Coaches, and anyone else who wants to join
  • This Mentor Roundtable learning opportunity is completely online and offered asynchronously, meaning that you can access resources and tools to support your coaching and mentoring work whenever you'd like to at times and dates that work for you. There will be different content provided each month. As a participant in this Asynchronous Roundtable, you will need to engage in the monthly topics and activities and contribute to the online Discussion Board Forum in order to receive clock hours and credit for attending this Roundtable. The benefit of this Roundtable is that it provides greater access to learning and materials and hopes to reduce barriers to regular Roundtable attendance by offering Roundtable content online (via Canvas). The work will still be facilitated by OPSI Mentor Faculty and ongoing support is available.
