Description
Participants will be introduced to the OSPI-created Essential Question Units and Resources grade-level documents designed to support K-5 science, particularly around the current need for remote learning resources. Participants will learn about the Topic Arrangement of the NGSS science standards and how this uses key essential questions to integrate multiple standards into fewer units. To support teachers, this resource provides a variety of freely available resources for every grade level performance expectation (standard).
Up to 6 free STEM clock hours will be awarded upon:
- Teacher attendance at the 1.5 hour online orientation/launch.
- 1.5 additional clock hours will be awarded for teacher implementation of each STEM activity with students along with submission of a brief reflection for each activity with evidence of student work such as links to class work documents (Google Doc, Jamboard, Padlet, snip of class models, snips of individual student work etc…). Up to 4.5 STEM clock hours total can be earned asynchronously for implementation with evidence.
- Teachers will have until April 2nd to implement and submit evidence for the additional 4.5 STEM clock hours.
