Description

Paraeducators: What We Do Matters is a comprehensive online professional learning course that Washington school districts may elect to use as part of their implementation of the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) for paraeducators. Through 13 self-paced modules, participants build foundational knowledge and practical skills to support student learning, collaborate with educators, and contribute to safe, inclusive learning environments. Topics include instructional support, communication, equity, behavior support, child development, technology, data collection, health and safety, and professional responsibilities.

Completion of this course provides up to 13 hours toward Washington's required 28-hour Fundamental Course of Study. The remaining required training, including district-specific content and required in-person instruction, is provided by the employing school district.

This course is hosted by Professional Learning US (PLUS) on behalf of the Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB).
