Description

Makerspaces, Fablabs, STEM, STEAM.   These are all popular concepts in the world of education today--but how do you bring those ideas to your students and your school in a way that is sustainable and fits into the curriculum you are already doing?   In this hands-on, exploratory workshop, presented by the minds behind Tinker Camp, you will be given the tools and conceptual framework to make tinkering and making real for your students and at the same time have the opportunity to unleash your own creative side.  With over 20 years of experience with project-based learning and student-centered design, your facilitators will move you from inspirational stories and projects to opportunities to design and build using easy to obtain materials,  while learning about simple hand and digital tools that allow any classroom to become a makerspace.  Additionally, we will support you as you plan to bring the concepts and ideas you experience over the day-long workshop to your curriculum. Of course, you and your own questions will play a big role in the direction of the collective experience.   Come prepared to be inspired and tinker in the unknown.
