Description

Join colleagues from across the state to consider ways that you traditionally begin the school year with students and strategize on ways to do this in an online or hybrid environment.

Each 90 minute session includes time to reflect on how you currently begin the school year and an opportunity to brainstorm how to do this in our current environment with grade band colleagues.  Each week we will focus on a different question:

Week 1:  What are the ways that you establish and build a science learning community at the beginning of the year?  (Reflection) How could this be supported in the online or hybrid space? (Sharing discussion)

Week 2:  What are the ways that you learn about your students' backgrounds, strengths and interests at the beginning of the year? (Reflection). How could this be supported in the online or hybrid space? (Sharing discussion)

Week 3:  How do you engage students in their first science activity of the year? (Reflection) How could this be supported in the online or hybrid space? (Sharing discussion)
