This 3-day workshop will introduce teachers to the philosophy and pedegogy behind Project-Based Learning, including the research base to support its use to teach an integrated approach to Common Core Math/ELA and Next Generation Science Standards, as well as 21st Century skills. Teachers will have the opportunity to evaluate existing PBLs using a rubric, adapt an existing unit to fit PBL criteria and develop new PBLs with student performance assessments. The third part of the series will occur after teachers have had time to implement a PBL unit, and will focus on assessment. Interdisciplinary teams of teachers are encouraged to attend.
