Description

This workshop is to review the impact of House Bill 2449 on truancy laws in Benton and Franklin counties. Participants will learn about the changes in legislation the laws (RCW) that apply to truancies and gain an understanding on how the truancy board process works.

Session 1 will address issues pertaining to Middle Schools and High Schools. (8:30 AM- 11:30 AM)

Session 2 will address issues pertaining to Elementary schools. (12:30 PM -3:30 PM)

There will be an open discussion regarding truancy intervention. Each school is encouraged to come with ideas and resources to join in creating solutions for truancy issues.  

Recommended staff: Administrators Counselors  Attendance Clerks and other staff who work with student attendance.
