This session will cover strategies for understanding and intervening with severe challenging behaviors in school settings (Red Zone/Tier 3). A practical framework will be described for developing, implementing, and evaluating effective behavior plans on a student by student basis. In particular, this workshop will address the most severe behavioral challenges faced in public education today. Coordination of interventions for complicated situations (e.g., students with dual diagnoses, complex trauma, etc.) will be addressed. In addition, opportunity will be provided for participants to apply this process to specific students with whom they are currently working.
