Description
When mathematics students engage in reflection, they have an opportunity to articulate their thinking and show evidence of their current understanding; in other words they behave as a mathematician. In this course, participants will identify the timing and purposes for reflection, view a progression of teacher prompts and student responses and discuss next steps for teachers and students. Educators will experience rich mathematical tasks, number routines and sense-making activities and choose appropriate reflection protocols to maximize student understanding.
