Good Morning … Thank You for your interest in the (MEC) Ratio and Proportion training that was scheduled for next week: July 22nd through July 25th. It is with deep regret to inform you that despite all of our concentrated efforts, we just didn’t get enough participants to justify the time for the trainers. We know that this is a very valuable training, and that you all have made summer arrangements to attend. We tried to hold out as long as we could before making this decision. So … what next: I will cancel your registration and start the process for a full refund I will keep you updated on possible future offerings from MEC7/16/2019 2:04 PM Lynne Forbush

Description
A Four Day Deep Dive into Content
A Unifying Theme of the Washington State Mathematics Learning Standards (CCSS). This 4-day workshop engages teachers across grades 4 – 14 as learners while modeling fully the Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMP) that are at the heart of the CCSS. Participants engage as independent problem solvers and in small collaborative groups with tasks that are classroom appropriate.
Event Notes
Live and learn mathematics within an environment that fully models the Standards for Mathematical Practice, which are central to successful implementation of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
Deepen your own mathematical understanding while learning how to support students as powerful users of mathematics.
Learn how to support a range of student needs from struggling students to advanced learners--without labeling students.
Solve challenging and engaging problems both collaboratively and as independent problem solvers.
Engage with colleagues in professional discussions of mathematics, instructional practice, the State Standards in mathematics, classroom culture, and other relevant issues!
Two major research studies have shown teachers participating in MEC's content courses can significantly impact student achievement gains.
