Description

This is an asynchronous course that is part of the AESD Inclusionary Practices Project (IPP). It is one of 12 modules that will be offered as a part of this project. You are welcome to take this course asynchronously, however, there will also be synchronous courses available if that is better for your learning preference. This course meets the criteria for Equity clock hour requirements for certificate renewal for certificated staff as well as Educational Leadership clock hours. OSPI has a specific focus on racial equity and family engagement which this course will address and how it relates to the course content.

In this module, The Case for UDL:  Equality, Equity, and Inclusive Practices, participants will develop an understanding of equality vs. equity for students in the classroom.  Educators will consider how to remove barriers to allow all students access to high quality core curriculum with a tiered support system and begin learning the foundational concepts of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
