Description
This is a synchronous course that is part of the AESD Inclusionary Practices Project (IPP). It is one of 12 modules that will be offered as a part of this project. This course is also available to be taken asynchronously if that is better for your learning needs or preferences. This course meets the criteria for Equity clock hour requirements for certificate renewal for certificated staff as well as Educational Leadership clock hours. OSPI has a specific focus on racial equity and family engagement which this course will address and how it relates to the course content.
In this course, Social Emotional Learning for the Inclusive Classroom, participants will understand the promise of effective social emotional learning practices. Educators will learn about the importance of teacher agency, as it relates to SEL instruction. Understanding the roadblocks in social emotional learning will help participants understand how they, as educational leaders, can proactively plan to overcome barriers and support staff in change at the building level.
