Description

This is a synchronous course that is part of the AESD Inclusionary Practices Project (IPP). It is one of 12 modules that will be offered as a part of this project. This course is also available to be taken asynchronously if that is better for your learning needs or preferences. This course meets the criteria for Equity clock hour requirements for certificate renewal for certificated staff as well as Educational Leadership clock hours. OSPI has a specific focus on racial equity and family engagement which this course will address and how it relates to the course content.

In this course, Culturally Responsive Teaching, participants will discuss equity, equality, and freedom.   Educators will learn about Dimensions of Equity and Expert Learning in Action by exploring examples and identifying key characteristics.  Understanding what it means to be a Warm Demander will help participants understand how they, as educational leaders, can proactively plan to overcome barriers and support staff in change at the building level.
