Description
Curious about how generative AI can support your work in education? This introductory, asynchronous course is designed to help educators build foundational knowledge about generative AI and its role in education today.
Participants will explore commonly used AI tools, learn how to avoid common pitfalls, and discover practical strategies to enhance educator efficiency and expand student access to learning materials. The course emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing participants to choose an AI tool and apply their learning by creating a resource or product they can immediately use in their current role.
Please note: This course does not include in-depth discussion of school or district AI policy, nor does it cover student use of AI tools.
Format: This self-paced course takes place in the Canvas Learning Management System.
Clock Hours: Educators who complete all course requirements will earn 5 clock hours, one of which counts as 1 Equity Clock Hour.
Deadline: Participants must complete this session in Canvas by December 12, 2025. Course attendance is taken on an on-going basis after participants finish, often within 3-5 days, though during rush periods and holiday breaks please be aware it may take up to 2 weeks.
