EdTech Sub-Regional Network Session 2 - Supporting Student AI Use

Developing Media and AI Literacy in Context

Thu, November 13 8:30 AM - Thu, December 4 2025 3:30 PM

Administered by NEWESD 101

Presenters

  • Debbie Stewart

Description

This session supports educators in designing intentional, responsible student use of AI tools. Grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), participants will explore core media and AI literacy skills and learn to align them with content standards and instructional materials to create authentic learning experiences. Emphasis will be placed on helping students use AI ethically and responsibly to support and elevate learning rather than replace it. Educators will collaborate, reflect, and design a standards-aligned, AI-powered, student activity that builds critical thinking, agency, and transferable skills.

Intended Audience:

  • Educators who have completed an AI in Education beginner training

  • Teachers, instructional coaches, tech leads, or admin with intermediate/advanced AI skills

  • Those ready to design AI use cases, not just consume AI content

Note: The morning session (8:30–11:30 AM) is geared toward secondary educators; the afternoon session (12:30–3:30 PM) is designed for elementary educators. Please register for the session best suited to your role.
