This introductory session outlines some of the 14 practices outlined in the book Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter Liljedahl and will focus on the practices needed to start building your "Thinking Classroom".

Participants will experience mathematics in a "Thinking Classroom" environment, and learn how to begin implementing their own "Thinking Classroom".  This will include how to launch deep math learning in a sense-making environment, and build in additional practices (outlined in the book) over time.
