Description

This fully asynchronous course is a book study of José Antonio Bowen and C. Edward Watson's 2024 book Teaching with AI:  A Practical Guide to a New Era of Human Learning, a timely book that offers educators a useful guide for how to navigate the classroom in the age of AI. Bowen and Watson explain how AI works, offer practical advice on how to teach with AI and create educational policies for AI usage, and also examine how students can learn with AI. Participants will work at their own pace on Canvas to a submit a pre-reading introductory assignment, guided reading questions to be completed while reading the book, and a final assignment that offers an opportunity to choose between drafting an AI policy statement, creating a classroom infographic on AI rules in their setting, or creating a lesson plan with AI. Completion of the course offers an opportunity to purchase 15 clock hours in STEM or Educational Leadership.

The book is available for purchase as a paperback, hardcopy, audiobook, or kindle through the book sellers below or libraries may have the book available to check out:
