In this online course administered by Google, you will build on the skills you already have with each tool Google Workspace for Education has to offer. You will enhance the effectiveness of your work through automation, personalization, and streamlined processes for your classroom and institution.

Formerly offered as "Google Certified Educator, Level 2," course modules include readings, videos, hands-on practice, and knowledge checks. The course culminates with a 30-minute assessment.

The Fundamentals training will take approximately 2 hours. Google will track your progress and the dates you complete each section. A separate form will be provided to you to report your completed hours for payment and clock hours. Up to 2 non-contract hours may be compensated with Staff Development and/or Technology PD funds and are eligible for clock hours.

Please be aware that the Google Educator modules cover the full suite of Google tools, not all of which align with OSD policies and student account permissions.

Per OEA CBA, allocated hours for the 2023-24 school year must be completed by July 31 and timeslipped in ETRS no later than August 10, 2024. July is a cross-over month when you may also begin to use your allocated hours for 2024-2025. Keep track as you will not be able to submit timeslips until after September 1.
