Description
This professional learning session will align staff collaboration and instructional practices with the Granite Falls Middle School 2025–2026 School Improvement Plan Professional Growth, emphasizing our four key goals:
- Goal 1 – Literacy and Writing Across the Curriculum:
Strengthening school-wide writing practices through consistent strategies in all content areas to enhance student communication, critical thinking, and comprehension. - Goal 2 – Reading and Math Proficiency:
Increasing student achievement in reading and math by implementing evidence-based instructional strategies, targeted interventions, and data-driven decision-making. A special focus will be placed on supporting 6th-grade teachers with practical strategies to build foundational literacy and numeracy skills across all disciplines. - Goal 3 – Social-Emotional Learning (SEL):
Promoting a positive and supportive school culture for both students and staff by integrating SEL practices into daily instruction and interactions. - Goal 4 – Professional Growth Through the CEL 5D Instructional Framework:
Deepening teacher and staff learning through the CEL 5D framework to enhance instructional effectiveness, student engagement, and reflective teaching practice. Staff will examine how the 5D dimensions—Purpose, Student Engagement, Curriculum & Pedagogy, Assessment for Student Learning, and Classroom Environment & Culture—support and connect to our SIP goals.
