Description
In this hands-on asynchronous course, educators will learn how to intentionally integrate equity and social-emotional learning (SEL) into classroom instruction using Edpuzzle. Participants will explore concrete strategies for building belonging and psychological safety while maintaining high expectations for all learners, aligned with Mukilteo’s strategic goals around safe, inclusive school communities and strong social-emotional supports.
Through guided modules, teachers will:
reflect on their own identities and assumptions and how these shape classroom practice (CCDEI “Understanding Self and Others”),
apply CCDEI and SEL practices to the design of video lessons that value diverse cultures, languages, and experiences, and
use Edpuzzle features (embedded questions, Live Mode, projects, and analytics) to amplify student voice, differentiate instruction, and support student agency in learning.
The course culminates in a classroom-ready Edpuzzle lesson that incorporates SEL check-ins, equitable scaffolds, and clear learning targets and success criteria, aligned with the 5D+ focus on purpose, engagement, differentiation, and formative assessment.
