Description
The philosophy of the RIGHT RESPONSE Workshop is to prevent aggression and behavioral problems when crisis is not occurring and to respond quickly and effectively when it does occur. You learn how to not incidentally reinforce problematic behavior and to respond in ways which extinguish the future occurrences of those undesired behaviors.
You will learn principles which apply to any age, any education level, environment, disability or diagnosis. During the workshop, you will not only learn how to apply these principles to those you now support, but also have the knowledge to apply these to any person you encounter in the future.
The process and principles of RIGHT RESPONSE allow everyone to share common language and skills in the pursuit of positive behavioral intervention. This increases the effectiveness of teams when an incident involves the response of, for example, a teacher, principal, counselor and security. When you integrate agency policy and procedure into the training content and integrate the training content into district policy and procedure you will maximize the return on your investment in training time and money.
The efficient methods of training delivery will add to the proficiency of your system rather than burden it. Recertification of staff and instructors focuses on increasing depth and mastery of skills rather than testing the same thing endlessly.
As a RIGHT RESPONSE client you have several layers of support freely available to you. Your instructors can contact an Instructor Trainer with questions about the curriculum or how to teach it. Administrators can contact the Project Manager with questions regarding the overall management of the training process, managing specific outcomes and risk management.
While no single technique will work on every person, there is a small set of principles that do apply to everyone. These principles are universal so they apply to any age person, any level of ability or disability, and any setting.
