As soon as your are done working with students for the day, please come to the Knox Building 111 Bethel St NE, Olympia, WA 98506

Presenters will be available starting at 11:35 am

District administrators will make an appearance at 1:30pm.

If any part of the orientation falls outside of your normal workday, you can time slip it using your professional development hours.

Newly hired paraeducators in the Olympia School District will come learn about the dos and don'ts of working with students and communicating with other staff and parents, requesting absences, checking paystubs, submitting timeslips, a crash course in deescalation (especially critical for new paraeducators working in special education), retirement options, requesting a sub, writing sub notes, understanding the paraeducator certificate program, finding training opportunities, and much more.

PLEASE bring your district laptop/chromebook to this orientation. If you don't already have one, please show up early to visit the technology department to get your device. Give the tech department a heads up by emailing them at helpdesk@osd.wednet.edu
