Convening Purpose:

The OSSI Convening is an opportunity for collaboration, learning (collective and individual), and continuous improvement as an entire statewide improvement network of Continuous Improvement Partners (CIPs), ESD Leads, ESD Coaching capacity (e.g., local ESD support or ESD contracted coaches), OSSI Liaisons, and OSPI partners. 

The OSSI June Convening for 2021 will have a theme/focus of engagement & re-engagement, equity, and anti-racism, as we plan to re-open schools this fall. We will discuss coordination of supports across our state network to ensure we lead systems change to establish a new and better normal in 2021-22 and onward. 

Convening Objectives:

Participants will be able to…

• Identify and commit to strategies to dismantle the system of white supremacy culture.
• Articulate ways we can use the continuous improvement framework to engage, support, and lead anti-racist change in schools.  
• Accelerate learning recovery by engaging with practical protocols that support and build capacity for leaders in evaluating and implementing equity-focused systems work for continuous school improvement.
• Coordinate and align school support strategies within their RIN.

For our internal OSPI Agency Partners (e.g., employees in L&T departments, etc.), we sincerely hope you can join in us for these two days. Please, share this invitation among staff who may be interested in your department. Also, note: your attendance is only necessary from 8:30A-2:45PM on Day 1 (June 15th, 2021). And, 8:30-12:00PM on Day 2 (June 17th, 2021). The rest of the time will be dedicated to specific regional/breakout times, which may not be as applicable to the general OSPI-agency audience.
