Description

Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the use of quality science assessment tasks that support student learning. This course will dive into strategies that make formative assessment one of the best instructional strategies for increasing student learning. Educators are re-evaluating their beliefs about the role of assessment in the classroom given the shift to remote and hybrid models of instruction. Emphasis has been moved away from evaluative assessment measures to a focus on supporting students in an assessment process that embraces the role of feedback within day to day instruction.

Join us in this three part course series where we:

Identify key strategies of formative assessment

Explore formative assessment tasks that support student learning

Participants have the opportunity to earn a $200 dollar stipend for implementing an assessment task at the conclusion of this course.
